First picture on European soil! Paris seriously caters to moms with kids – well, maybe that’s all of Europe… but anyway, HUGE changing rooms, super patient, friendly staff who constantly chatter at and squeeze your baby, and exceptional service for families on Air France (which I highly recommend)

I’m laying here in bed with a squirmy little baby laughing next to me. It’s 2000 local time and we’ve been up for I don’t even know how long. But we are here – our final destination; Naples! It’s so surreal to think that this is our new home. Like all the places we’ve been as a little family the past five weeks, it feels like we’re passing through.

San Antonio, Minneapolis and Charleston – what an amazing month its been! We made so many great memories with our family and friends, and I know those will help carry me through till the next time I see all those beautiful souls. Leaving San Diego has been one of the most challenging things we’ve done, but, undeniably, one of the best ways imaginable to start our own little journey as a young family. God’s help and direction have been so evident through the whole moving process, so that it is impossible to say He’s not leading us in the path we should go. I’m so grateful for that!

Unlike, however, the many homes and hotel rooms we have stayed in during the month, that city we flew over, just hours ago, that city, THIS city, is now H O M E! We are so excited! Really; just the thought of living (for years!) in a completely foreign country with a culture so different from how we have always lived… its such a privilege!

But… it’s also kind of scary. We are the foreigners here. With 10 or so Italian words up our sleeves – we dive into this brand new place. Buona notte, Italia!
